Have you ever had two days that are complete polar opposites? It's funny, my mom always told me that 99.9% of the time when you have a bad day, the next day will be a great one. Isn't that the truth? It's rare that I ever have two horrible days in a row.
Yesterday was my horrible day. I don't think that the time change affected us too much, it was just the ides of March (and Sunday) creeping into our home. It seems as if Sunday mornings are THE "thorn in my flesh". Now, I do all that I can on Saturday evening to prepare for Sunday. I give baths. I lay church clothes out. I get out my ingredients for Sunday's noon meal. But no matter what I do, it seems as if we always run late and then, Satan himself appears in my house (aka Tiffany Curry). I tell myself over and over again that Satan is purposefully trying to make Sunday mornings horrible so that it ruins my frame of mind to worship God.
Katelyn didn't have a very good night of sleeping (could it be that I had 3 cups of caffeinated coffee before I nursed her?) So, we all slept in until 7:30. This is not good, as we need to leave the house by 8:40. I had the kids fed (including Bill) and dressed. But, of course, Katelyn has a massive poop that was now, all over her pretty dress. By the way, do you ever wonder how the diaper can be virtually clean but the poop is all up the back side and even into the hair? Gets me every time.
Then, of course, Luke was in such a bad mood. He whined and cried about everything. As he whined, I tried to remember all that I needed for the day. Most importantly, I needed my camera. In Sunday School, they were going to sing "Happy Birthday" to Luke and he was going to blow out the candles on the fake cake (a Sunday School ritual that you'll have to ask me about if you really want to know). This is something that I really didn't think was a big deal. As a matter of fact, I didn't really even think about bringing my camera to take pictures of the event until I saw another mom snapping shots of her child during the celebration. Great. Something else I have to remember.
So, we made it to church right on time. Bill drops Luke and me off at the front door and we rush in. We get there just as they were beginning. Luke gets up to the front and looks incredibly sweet. I pop my camera out, the song begins, and of course, my camera is out of batteries. So, I faked taking pictures so that I didn't look like an idiot, although it's pretty hard to hide when Luke is yelling "Mom! Did you get a picture of me blowing out the candles?" By the way, what do you do in this situation? I lied. Yes, in church.
Then, during church, I took Luke downstairs to go potty. After we washed hands, he bolted out. I followed him, but couldn't keep up. Before I know it, he's in the sanctuary, up by the front yelling, "Mommy? Mommy? Where are you?" (Are you asking yourself where Bill is at this point? Yeah, me too).
Needless to say, the day got better after church. Funny how that works out.
The whole conclustion to the story is that today as been a fabulous day. I had Bible Study with my friends, was able to do my own devotions during the kids' naps and I even was able to sneak my workout in! Oh, and of course, I found time to write this exceptionally long blog. Life is good. Even on Mondays~!

It's almost a given Sunday's will be bad. It's rare I make it out the door with the right attitude.
:o( "Murphy's Law" always seems to apply . . . Glad to know your Monday was much better. ;o)
